Sonic Triple Trouble (+ fan art!)

I’ve been playing the cool fan version of Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble which seems to have basically become the official version of the game in most people’s eyes lol (Looking at the Game Gear version is painful in comparison…)
They truly did an amazing job giving the game the feel of the earlier 16-bit games), it looks and plays great!
Especially the winter level in this one is pure joy ~* ˚｡⋆❆
I finally beat the game!! The last zone was really toying with my patience... [Spoiler(?): It unlocked Knux as a playable character, yay! Guess I gotta do a replay then~]
You can switch between Sonic and Tails, and you betcha I always pick Tails cuz he can flyyyy
Well, except for a lot of the boss fights because Sonic is a little more precise to manage.
Drew a little Tailsy right here! In Paint Tool SAI using the binary tool for that pixely look I like. It always kinda reminds me of the oekaki I’ve seen from lots of people in earlier days of the internet (never been active on one of those forums myself sadly, a tad too young perhaps haha).
It’s hard to keep the lines clean when erasing or transforming selections. I always try to make every pixel look right. It’s quite taxing keeping that up to the end, but there’s something really satisfying to it, especially when the drawing winds up looking good in the end 😊 My neck and shoulders don’t find it very satisfying though, not to mention my hand… Remember, artists (and gamers!), stretch plenty, move around at least sometimes, and don’t stay up too late! (^O^;
Can you tell how much I struggled with one of the hands? The other one was such a breeze to draw, but this one… (I won’t say which one I’m talking about, I won’t call myself out like that! Should be easy enough to guess yjsvdvals) But well, I suppose a Sonic character’s hands shouldn’t have to look all that realistic. “Hyperrealistic” is reserved for Sonic.exe, amiright?
One can easily forget sometimes because he’s been around for so long, but Tails really does have an exceptionally cute character design! Simple and to the point. Idk, child me loved this idea of a little two-tailed fox, who can fly to boot! And I do again now, after sort of going through the obligatory pubescent “Tails ain’t one of the edgy cool ones” phase haha
This is one aspect I dislike about SatAM and the early comics (which I otherwise love), they did him dirty with the design they gave him...

Recently I’ve been getting back into drawing after a break way too long. When I interact with Sonic-related media I still get so inspired. It’s funny, what is it that this franchise does to autistic people? XD Just kinda scratches an itch in the brains of a lot of us, huh? Actually, let me examine this further. ☝️🤓
- Sonic canonically is a beloved hero who is cocky and unafraid to speak his mind. Gotta love living vicariously through such a character ^o^; (also he’s ADHD coded)
- Tails is a child with enough tech prowess to build his own machines, a.k.a. autistic boy character trope 101
- Amy is ADHD coded as well, has very strong emotions and an unhealthy obsession with her limerent object Sonic
- Shadow is relatable to the autistic people (especially teenagers) embittered with the world and its people, and also because his "upbringing" makes it hard for him to connect with others
- Blaze is for the autistic girls/AFABs who always get told they're too serious for their ageand are probably queer
- AND most important of all: They. Are. Furries.
I keep going back to the Sonic fan art I loved on deviantART back in the day, and then there’s a bunch of cool newer Sonic fan art as well aaaa

Btw: Is everyone else on here autistic too? LMAO I keep reading on people’s pages that they are. It’s really no wonder tbh, but wow! Around 15+ years ago, on websites like this there were a lot of people who I’d say in retrospect showed a lot of autistic traits, but now so many people here are openly talking about it! I guess diagnoses really are on the rise, how awesome :,) Looking at my own process of getting one ( _(:3 」∠)_ *dies slowly*), I really hope people in the future will be able to know way earlier than I did that they don’t suck, it’s just Autism, haha <3
