Even though the rest of the music video is really cool, as a vegan, I see it as my duty to opt for the chicken-free audio-only version here lmfao

Mighty interesting! Fairy was obvious ngl, but the Ice type is something I hadn’t considered before. So accurate though, I can take low temperatures easily but melt in the heat. People have also taken me to be colder than I really am. I was even born in a particularly cold winter!
The speed stat is the biggest callout of my life LMAO, I really do seem to move through this world at a fraction of the pace of everyone else... And I do get knocked offa my feet easily, oh well...

As I said I would, I'm gonna post some songs that I think fit winter really well (which is rather subjective, of course).
I always get sad that the Christmas markets here are all closed by early January at the latest and that a lot of people in the Northern Hemisphere only associate January and February with endless doom and gloom. It's not without reason, of course, but I wanna keep finding joy in this season. (And personally I'd have the cold over the summer heat any day ;;; )

It’s been a sec, hasn’t it (^^;;;;;;
It’s nearing a year, really, given that it’s winter again.
My social anxiety has made it impossible for me to open my Dreamwidth for all this time… How I hate this. I want to kick my anxiety to the curb, it’s ruining so many things for me… But then again, it’s no wonder I developed it. The world is cruel towards autistic people (and in general)…
Still, I’m really glad to be back! Proud of myself that I could manage to log in again <3 And to everyone who's interacted with my posts/messages, thank you so much, I really, really, really appreciate it 🧡🧡🧡

I was on a pretty big Mariah Carey trip for a while, her music was somehow really soothing to my heart during these trying times (that and audiobooks for kids 🧡). I’ve been listening to her debut album, and hearing Vision of Love and There’s Got to Be a Way for the first time in years, probably, really did something to me.

Been trying to learn it for myself since I joined this website, but it's tricky, especially because you can't do anything and everything within the limits of Dreamwidth. And then of course starting from scratch is also difficult for a beginner... I'll try to see if there are any useful guides that my brain is willing to comprehend XD
But well, keeping things simple can be nice too. Just gotta not give up and see what I can do! :-)

Be human, don't stay silent
Feb. 14th, 2025 01:39 amGermany's "Never again" statement is completely selective. So many people don't know that "Never again" needs to protect all marginalized people. They want to stay on the surface and avoid going into the depths that real solidarity entails. They say they're ashamed of this country's history, but politicians and mainstream media support genocide and apartheid yet again. They think that criticizing Israel in any way is automatically antisemitic, but that hating Arabs and putting them through hell is somehow fair game. They think they can make up for their German guilt by getting yet another people's blood on their hands. And with others further to the right, it's not even about that, it's about mere convenience.
The other day I watched a German YouTube video that mentioned a (frankly quite awful) guy who happens to have Palestinian heritage. In a response to one comment there someone called him something very hateful that I don't even want to repeat here because I don't want to hurt anyone who might read it and because that commenter doesn't deserve to get their filth repeated. There were 4 upvotes and no one countered it in any way...
There's a good chance it partly has to do with the fact that this piece of shit used the word "falestin" which I guess a lot of people here don't know means Palestine. Still, it's shocking how this kind of thing seemingly just gets accepted. I did report the comment, but who knows if it gets removed... I have little hope for even a sliver solidarity from anyone, it's so disheartening...
Luckily some more politically conscious people do exist in Germany, but if you watch TV and read the news and hear quite a lot of people talk, it sometimes feels like no one understands the situation (not to mention the predictions for the upcoming election...). It feels like everyone here is okay with seeing us Arabs dead or displaced...
It doesn't even feel safe to talk about all this, it's very taboo to criticize Israel. I mean, it's nothing new that whatever we do, we're automatically categorized as terrorists. Always be quiet, don't dare to show your emotions, always gotta be stoic, always gotta be chill about the fact that so many people consider you to be sub-human. I hate that even in this post I feel the need to tone down my completely justified anger because it is literally dangerous to be angry when you're classed as a demon from the start.
Shaun's video about Palestine is amazing. One of his points really stuck with me: He talks about the resistance of British civilians against the Nazis in World War II, how these people to this day get lauded as heroes for standing up against them while risking their own lives. And about how when Palestinians act the same way, suddenly it's a problem, that they aren't allowed to have a human reaction to being attacked and besieged.
That's how it is every time. People of color never get the permission to react in a human way because we are not fucking seen as human.
Every day my heart is with Palestinians all over the world. Bless you all. Bless the souls of all the people who lost their lives. They cannot be erased. They are being remembered, they continue to be loved, their memory will always be cherished by those blessed enough to have known them. So many Palestinians' stories are remembered even by complete strangers, some of whom live thousands of miles away, simply because they are human enough to care.
P.S.: Speaking of Shaun, I was so happy to watch his fundraiser stream and see how much money he raised for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund! Even though there are so many cruel and apathetic people out there, still there are others who care and who are willing to do whatever little bit they can to help, and seeing that really meant a lot to me.

Old and new drawings

I've been reading the Sonic Archie comics again from the beginning. I looove them, I wish it didn't cost a fortune to collect all the issues... It's also been tricky to find scans online of everything including the Sonicgrams. The Archives are nice and all, but I want the full experience, ya know? The original issues I do have are some of my most prized possessions tbh <3
Bunnie is my favorite character, I love her so much!
Generally the female characters from the comics and SatAM are so cool! Julie-su, Sally, Mina, ... their character designs are great, they've always inspired me a lot~ Btw, I'll share some more new art when I finish drawing something, or some sketches/WIPs, we shall see c:
I do have something old to show you though, Sonic drawings from when I was like... 13, I guess?
I never did anything more than this with them, been thinking about coloring/redrawing them digitally... or doing just the lineart digitally and coloring them traditionally? I could definitely practice drawing backgrounds using these! Either way, gotta finally honor child me's hard work XD
I had a bit (or a lot) of a coloring phobia back then. Actually only recently have I been able to slowly work my way through that. Slow is just the word: I wanted to practice coloring with my COPIC markers that I've had for years and years but which have always kind of intimidated me. For no reason, as I know now, they are my friends!! I started experimenting with a few different colors on the cardboard back of a notepad, blending shades of green and then blue. It looked like I could turn it into hair, so I added a quick sketch of a face etc. Never would I have thought coloring it would make it look better and better and better instead of ruining it! Sure, the sketch was literally there as just a rough basis for my main purpose of coloring, but still, having this kind of positive experience means so much!
(WIP, I hope to post a better photo of the finished piece at some point!)
Now I've been working at this drawing, little by little, one small step at a time. After all, I'm in my warming up stage to coloring and to thoroughly getting back into drawing, so I gotta give it time :) The blendability of COPICs is honestly amazing, it's so, so, so much fun to work with them! <3 You don't even need to have 100+ colors ready to create something good (though you could probably save a lot of time blending them while they're freshly applied ^^;). These markers are really expensive, so I'll keep buying a few of the ones I really feel I have use for instead of some huge set (O__o).
The noteback on whose back I'm drawing this is one I've been using for my notes to learn Math from scratch! It's so like my school days, drawing in and on the notepads XD I wish I'd had a resource like that website back then, but oh well... Math is another subject from my childhood that I want to reclaim now and learn properly this time
P.S.: Last time I talked about what draws autistic people to Sonic, I somehow left out Knuckles, how could I! Dude is known to be impulsive, quick to anger, and super-gullible. Too relatable, man, I've always loved Knuckles (˶´ ᗜ `˶ ;;

This time I want to actually collect the Chaos Emeralds, but I've once again been having a tough time with that. You have to play as Sonic and Tails to collect them, the game itself is suddenly such a breeze now that the pressure is gone XD I want to summon Super Saiyan Sonic and pink Knucklessss

A while ago I went to the library to pick up some books, and I do declare, I showed a lucky hand in my choices that time! Pretty much all the ones I got gave me a good time and/or something interesting to think about. This doesn't happen often, I must have been blessed >;D A sign from the universe perhaps that I should go to the library more often~

I’m not gonna write in too much detail about Konbini ningen (Convenience Store Woman) by Murata Sayaka which was among this first batch of library books I got as well because I read it in December (and this post is gonna be long anyways hvsihaiaj), but it’s a really entertaining read! Especially for my fellow autistic ladies and AFABs because the main character is one of us :,D (Once again, it’s not explicitly mentioned sadly, but it’s quite obvious haha) You should give it a go if you haven’t, it’s short and sweet too.
Also I read three volumes of Raeliana which I’m really enjoying as well! ^o^ It’s a Korean Isekai Romance webcomic, good for a quick, light read.

Sonic Triple Trouble (+ fan art!)

I’ve been playing the cool fan version of Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble which seems to have basically become the official version of the game in most people’s eyes lol (Looking at the Game Gear version is painful in comparison…)

Drew a little Tailsy right here! In Paint Tool SAI using the binary tool for that pixely look I like. It always kinda reminds me of the oekaki I’ve seen from lots of people in earlier days of the internet (never been active on one of those forums myself sadly, a tad too young perhaps haha).
It’s hard to keep the lines clean when erasing or transforming selections. I always try to make every pixel look right. It’s quite taxing keeping that up to the end, but there’s something really satisfying to it, especially when the drawing winds up looking good in the end 😊 My neck and shoulders don’t find it very satisfying though, not to mention my hand… Remember, artists (and gamers!), stretch plenty, move around at least sometimes, and don’t stay up too late! (^O^;
Can you tell how much I struggled with one of the hands? The other one was such a breeze to draw, but this one… (I won’t say which one I’m talking about, I won’t call myself out like that! Should be easy enough to guess yjsvdvals) But well, I suppose a Sonic character’s hands shouldn’t have to look all that realistic. “Hyperrealistic” is reserved for Sonic.exe, amiright?

I guess diagnoses really are on the rise, how awesome :,) Looking at my own process of getting one ( _(:3 」∠)_ *dies slowly*), I really hope people in the future will be able to know way earlier than I did that they don’t suck, it’s just Autism, haha <3

Can you tell how much I struggled with one of the hands? The other one was such a breeze to draw, but this one… (I won’t say which one I’m talking about, I won’t call myself out like that! Should be easy enough to guess yjsvdvals) But well, I suppose a Sonic character’s hands shouldn’t have to look all that realistic. “Hyperrealistic” is reserved for Sonic.exe, amiright?

Btw: Is everyone else on here autistic too? LMAO I keep reading on people’s pages that they are. It’s really no wonder tbh, but wow! Around 15+ years ago, on websites like this there were a lot of people who I’d say in retrospect showed a lot of autistic traits, but now so many people here are openly talking about it! I guess diagnoses really are on the rise, how awesome :,) Looking at my own process of getting one ( _(:3 」∠)_ *dies slowly*), I really hope people in the future will be able to know way earlier than I did that they don’t suck, it’s just Autism, haha <3
Making it to my late 20s

People are often made to feel bad for being a late bloomer, but it's not so bad not to have peaked in your youth. At least you'll have the best yet to come later in life, that's how I try to see it. I never used to believe it, but things really do get better! I realized that what I needed has always been within me, I just needed to learn how to nurture these good parts of myself, feed the hopeful instead of the harmful thoughts and beliefs, and I continue to learn all the time. That doesn't erase any problems coming from outside of course, but being cool with yourself the way you are has a positive influence on all sorts of things like I don't think I ever thought possible.
I'm really counting on my 30s to be "my decade" XD But I gotta say, I already feel better right now than I ever have, cheers baby! ✨

I've been meaning to make a post for a while, but there's a piece of art I wanted to include that I still haven't finished ^^; Next time (hopefully)!
Been trying my hands a lil at the beautification of my page since I joined. Finding fonts that look right and work well with each other is particularly tricky…
Thing is, I’m not here to have a perfectly polished page, I love the slightly amateurish look of old websites/site profiles, that “the year is 200X and I tried to learn some HTML” look www (gotta actually do that sometime btw). That’s why I’m here of all places after all haha
These bunny mood sprites are so cute! ♥ I like the little bats too, but these bunnies just go perfect with my theme >w<

Why am I only finding out now there is a proper alternative to LJ like this? Someone should have told me over 10 years ago, maybe then someone would have read the crap I wrote XD It might be too late now...
